In this painting, my goal was to achieve a wintery scene, where the icy ground seemed like a river, frozen in time. In the midst of this icy winter’s-scape, the pine trees stood their vigil to keep the promise that life strives forward. Perhaps that is one reason why I have always held a strong affinity for trees that remain, Ever Green.
