This is the second in my series of paintings focusing on the beauty and allure of the quaking aspens during autumn. This particular painting is part of a sub-series where I continue exploring a more painterly style, trying to allow the brush, the paint, the canvas, and the subject to guide me while I learn from the experience. You will see that the subject/composition remains essentially the same as Aspens Rising Number One, only the style of brush stroke has changed.

It is a fascinating species that is deemed as one of the largest living organisms on the planet, as they in part survive by sprouting new trees from the roots of existing trees, thus interconnecting themselves over a vast area.

Imagine you’re laying down in a group of aspens while enjoying the cool breeze of an early autumn Colorado day as you gaze up at the warm colors!
