First in a series of paintings focusing on the beauty and allure of the quaking aspens during autumn. This particular painting is part of a sub-series where I continue exploring a more painterly style, trying to allow the brush, the paint, the canvas, and the subject to guide me while I learn from the experience.
It is a fascinating species that is deemed as one of the largest living organisms on the planet, as they in part survive by sprouting new trees from the roots of existing trees, thus interconnecting themselves over a vast area.
